Partnership forged to advance cutting edge commercial use of Artificial Intelligence.

EDMONTON, AB, Canada

CodeBaby Corp., a leading developer of Intelligent Agent software, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Machine Learning (AICML) where each party will share machine learning intelligence. This mutually beneficial partnership will help in the advancement and commercialization of machine learning, supporting the practical application of AI concepts.

“The AICML is one of the strongest machine learning research centers in the world -- we’re very fortunate to be working with them,” said Neil Lamoureux, the CTO of CodeBaby Corporation.

The AICML, a research centre at the University of Alberta, was created in September of 2002 and has a five-year, multi-million dollar grant from the Alberta Ingenuity Fund. It supports and promotes curiosity- driven machine learning research, including the commercial application of such technology. Through its collaboration with CodeBaby, the AICML plans to increase its expertise with the real-world application of CodeBaby’s products.

“CodeBaby’s products are built using a number of technologies, which include artificial intelligence techniques, such as machine learning, to make them both intelligent and engaging,” said Dr. Robert Holte, the AICML director. “Their research and development of intelligent 3D animated assistants fits well within the research directives of the AICML.”

The Memorandum of Understanding is a first for both organizations — It indicates the recognition of the importance of such collaborations in adapting and creating new technologies to improve existing products and services.
