Flash Player support expands global OS and browser compatibility, extends market for CodeBaby virtual agent use

CodeBaby®, the leading developer of virtual agent software, has announced that its award-winning solution is now available in Macromedia® Flash™ format. CodeBaby virtual agents are already in wide use today on a variety of websites and applications, acting as online support agents, eLearning assistants, virtual hosts and online sales agents. With the new capability to support the widely distributed Macromedia Flash Player, CodeBaby is able to offer its solution to over 98% of user desktops globally and has eliminated the need for end users to download a proprietary ActiveX plug-in. Flash compatibility also means that CodeBaby virtual agents can now run on Mac and Linux operating systems and in Firefox, Netscape and Opera web browsers, platforms which were previously unsupported by the ActiveX version.

Flash Player support expands the market for CodeBaby, by tapping into the growing population of security conscious corporations who prefer to avoid pushing downloads to their customers but who are actively seeking more effective ways to interact with them. It also opens up entirely new markets by allowing CodeBaby to leverage Flash Player support for alternative technology platforms, including set-top boxes, PDA’s and cell phones. “We see a day when our virtual agents will replace user manuals, which are ineffective and rarely used, with an interactive and on-demand character based guide. CodeBaby’s Flash-based solution is available immediately. Organizations looking to deploy a CodeBaby virtual agent in their website or application can choose to offer the virtual agent to their end users in either Macromedia Flash Player format, CodeBaby 3D Player format, or both.
